Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is an FDA-approved treatment which is both safe and highly effective for actinic keratosis (precancers) of the skin. This treatment has also been very effective in the treatment of sebaceous hyperplasia (superficial oil glands), acne vulgaris, hidradenitis suppurativa, and photoaging.
PDT requires the combination of a topical photosensitizing agent, light energy and molecular oxygen to destroy abnormal cells. Treatments provide excellent cosmetic results with minimal patient discomfort.
